Silk – pan-Asian street food

Silk was created as an innovative pan-Asian dining concept better described as «casual Asian street food dining».

Silk offers an overview of flavors that spans across a region the size of half the world. Silk targets busy summer and winter locations from the Med and
Adriatic basin to the European Alps and across the (up-and-coming) affluent capitals of Eastern Europe.

The first restaurant was launched on the island of Korcula (Croatia) in 2016. A second followed in Split (Croatia) on June 2018 quickly followed by a third venue in Verbier in the Swiss Alps (December 2018). In July 2020 a fourth venue was launched on the Island of Hvar. In 2021, both Korcula and Split expanded their venues by acquiring their respective neighboring retail spaces. This allowed Silk to add sushi and other Japanese delicacies to their offering as well as a fully stock bar venue offering Asian inspired cocktails.

The Silk experience has proven very successful in all the venue openings. The creators have developed an efficient business model that provides access to pan-Asian quality food at an affordable price point. Succulent and beautifully presented dishes, prepared fresh on the go, that can be eaten quickly either on site or as take away.

In short, a friendly atmosphere in a relaxed dining environment that optimizes resources and space together with an unparalleled guest service.

The Korcula experiment

Korcula has the advantage of being a cosmopolitan tourist destination, as such it has helped us hone meal preparations, portion size and tastes so as to better cater to a worldwide audience.

Silk design & development

In its original form, the Korcula restaurant comprised exterior seating only. The total capacity initially was of 35 covers. After the 2021 expansion, Silk Korcula was able to accommodate 145 covers with both interior and exterior seating.

Seating in Korcula is on stylish benches sharing communal tables, with patrons sitting next to each other. In its original configuration clients ordered at the till window  and receive a number. Once the food was ready, the waiting staff took the food to the table. Waiting staff also cleared and cleaned the tables, ready for the next customer. In its current expanded version, the wait staff provide table service using NEC’s Orderman mobile devices.

Silk does not offer Wi-Fi, encouraging patrons to interact with each other, thus making the whole experience more friendly and casual.
